I own a MX850 printer and installed Windows 10 yesterday. The printing and the fax functions work perfectly. However since I updated to windows 10 the scan function dont do anything.
My printer is plugged via USB cabel to my Laptop. My laptop dont recognise my printer as a scanner.

We just have updated windows 8.1 drivers on this page and all other drivers. Windows 10 drivers are not available even on canon official website. They stated that the windows 8.1 drivers will work for windows 10 too.
So, we recommend you to please uninstall all the drivers and then reinstall them again with windows 8.1 drivers.

thanks a lot so far. Now my Laptop recognize my printer. The scan function from the windows intern scan program works perfectly too.
However there is still one problem I have to face. If i want to scan directly from the printer it opens a dialog window on my laptop to select a proper scan tool. Do I need to install a third party program or does Canon support a tool too which work with my old printer. It is important for me to scan documents as a pdf file and the windows program dont support this option.
