I have a Pixma MX512, recently upggraded to Windows 10. I understand that I need to download and update drivers. Is this something that a ”decent user but no way a computer whiz’ can do? One) how do I uninstall the old drivers? two) I don’t see my download listed. Are their simple, clear instructions somewhere?
I have a dell: Windows 10Pro, Version 1500; 64 bit x 64 based processor. Recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10

Drivers for windows 10 is not available even on canon website. You have to get the drivers using windows update – means when you update your windows after plug your printer, windows update will automatically download and install the drivers. But you have to uninstall old (windows 7) drivers manually.
To uninstall the drivers got to control panel and go for the section which have all the installed app listed and then choose “Canon Pixma MX512” drivers and uninstall it and that remove the driver folder from this location: C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\ and remove all the olds drivers from there, then reboot your computer once and plug the printer again and then start windows update to get the drivers online.
